I was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on November 13, 1966 at 3:13 in the morning. My family resided in Birmingham, MI for the first 4 years of my life. Then we moved to the country to Romeo, MI and bought my grandparents house. I enjoyed the country and loved the field of cows and horses that were across the street from us. My sister and I would ride horses and cows bare back and almost broke our necks a few times! It was very adventurous living in the country and on a dirt road. It was fun climbing trees too! I remember our neighbors would be so afraid we would fall so they would coax us down with freshly baked cookies!! We grew rhubarb in our garden and made homemade Rhubarb jam every year! It was yummy!

My fun world came tumbling down in 1973, when my parents got divorced I was 7 years old at that time. I won’t go into details about this experience but there was a lot of fighting between my mom and dad. I was very sad from the divorce and was affected deeply by this experience. I was daddy’s girl and my dad was no longer around for me to be his little girl and to protect me from life and my mother. After my mom and dad were divorced we then moved to Grosse Pointe Woods, MI where I lived until I was 17 years old.

I utilized my artistic talent by taking dance lessons. I was a ballet, tap and Jazz dancer where I attended a local dance studio owned by Angela two blocks from my house. I loved her because she always gave a tuition break to my mom and was the sweetest lady I have ever met! I was also in a dance company called, “Dance East” that was formed by our dance studio and included three of Angela’s daughters. I performed along with “Dance East” Dance Company in the Detroit Emmy Awards in 1983, which was quite an honor! I remember the one newscast man (I shall leave him nameless) smacked a few of us on the ass as he was going to get his award on stage and when he walked off stage nearly fell down and needed help back to his seat! What an interesting experience that was! Our dance company also did local gigs for Chrysler and some of the other major car companies to promote their new cars to Dealership Owners. It was an awesome experience performing with this dance company and it prepared me for a private school I was going to attend my freshman year in high school.

My mom wanted me to gain some discipline and I think get me out of her hair and perfect my dancing ability too!! So I attended Interlochen Arts Academy (Near Traverse City) where I studied the Arts: Dance, Drama and Piano. I received all A’s in every subject and I especially loved the arts! After awhile, I became very homesick because it was 5-6 hours from my home town and I only got to see my family on seasonal breaks. I begged my mom to come home since I was so home sick!! She did let me come home and I think I finally convinced her by charging up an $800.00!! I then returned to Grosse Pointe North for my sophomore year in high school.

Ok, here is the best part of all, my mom had a brilliant idea to move me to Florida for my senior year in high school which I was not too happy about!! She did this because she wanted to marry her boyfriend and come to the warm state of Florida. So our family was moved. I then decided to opt to do the Senior work program where I went to school in the morning and worked as an Aerobic instructor in the afternoon. I liked this because I was not in school all day.

My mom kicked me out of the house when I was 18. This was a good thing because it made me stand on my own two feet. I worked at Casual Corner as a Floor Manager and then applied for Sears and Roebuck’s Parts Department where I earned more money to support myself on my own. I eventually decided to be an Air Traffic Controller so I went on a waiting list for the Air Force. A year and a half later an opening came available and off to boot camp I went. I was only there two weeks and was the leader of one of the squads, when one of my girls came up to me in the squad and asked what these red marks were all over her body. I said I didn’t know and sent her to the clinic. Come to find out it was chicken pox and I had never had it before either. So of course two weeks later I am scratching up a storm and sent off to the hospital and quarantined. I was a Christian Scientist in my younger years. We pray for healing instead of seeking medical treatment. I also had a Christian Science Chaplain and practitioner pray for me. I was healed with in three days and sent back to my squadron. My doctor even said his aunt was a Christian Scientist and he was not sure how it worked but said he knew prayer always helped his aunt. It was refreshing to hear a doctor believe in something besides just the medical side of things!

I returned to my squadron very happy that I didn’t have to stay longer by starting all over with a new group!! I graduated with honors from the Air Force Academy and was sent to Biloxi, MS for my Technical Schooling. I went to school for Air Traffic Control. This was a hard school and it was said that 90% of the students didn’t make it or failed this school. So I studied my butt off and graduated with high grades!

After graduation from Air Traffic Control School I was stationed at Grissom Air Force Base (SAC) in Indiana which is right near Kokomo, Indiana. I had to gain my certification by training in the tower. While training for my certification, I also took college classes. I had to get special permission to take these college classes while getting certificated (this was not usually granted since learning ATC was very intense). So I felt honored to be able to do both at the same time.

When I was finally certified as an Air Traffic Controller, I worked 6 days on 1 day off a week! It was a hard job but I received an award for “Airman of the Quarter” and had to be asked a series of questions before a board of officers and compete against other people that were nominated for this award. I won over 30 people!! I was given my own parking place and several free gift cards, etc. I was also featured in the local newspaper so I felt honored that I had received this award.

After completing three of my four years, I asked to get out a year early so I could complete my college education. But the catch is for every year of active duty you have to serve two years of reserve status. I accepted these conditions and got out of active duty. I applied to Principia College, a private liberal Arts and Christian Science college in Elsah, Illinois. The college sat on the beautiful bluffs of the Mississippi river and on clear days you could see the St. Louis Arch! It was breath taking up on the bluffs and in the fall when the leaves were changing you could be awestruck!! At Principia College I studied and graduated with a double major in Elementary Education and Sociology.

I was also involved in all the college dance productions since this was my background and I loved to dance! We had a student run dance production when I was there that was awesome because we coordinated the whole thing and it was a beautiful performance! I was also what you call a non-traditional student (older than the average student) and served on the board of the student counsel of the Non-Trad students. I graduated college in 1997.

I Then decided to take on another adventure after graduating from college, so I moved to Taiwan to teach ESL (English As a Second Language). I lived in the second biggest city Kaohsiung and taught ESL and modeled. I was somewhat famous in Taiwan as I did TV commercials, Info-Commercials, and runway modeling. I did one of the first Viagra commercials in Taiwan (and I thought I was just doing a pain medicine commercial!) I also did an Info-Commercial to lose weight by using a cream and putting on a belt to lose weight. I modeled half a million dollar jewelry for one show. It was quite an experience. I was in Taiwan when the first Democratic election took place from the Republic of China and China was bombing to the North of Taiwan in demonstration (that was a little scary). I traveled to Hong Kong (When the British still owned it) and to Thailand. I loved both places and found uniqueness about each. Then, right before I came home to the U.S. for good, my family met me in Hong Kong and we traveled through China as well.

When I returned to the U. S. I started working through a temporary agency for GTE and also substitute taught Elementary School. I chose to be hired by GTE since the salary was much higher than teaching at the time. I have worked for GTE, now known as Verizon Wireless, for 10 years! I also bought and flipped houses the last 4 years using my artsy abilities to pick out all the interior decorating to re-do 1920’s bungalow’s. My mom and dad actually gave me the love for older homes and renovating them!! My parents both inspired me and gave me many awesome qualities I have been able to use and rely on in my life!! Thank you mom and dad!!

Who am I?

I am very eclectic and artsy and have been a dancer my whole life. I have done everything from Air Traffic Control to renovating homes to modeling in a foreign country! Now, I have returned to modeling, Pin Up Modeling! I have learned to be a strong woman through out my life and my parents taught me that what ever I put my mind to doing I can do! So that’s what I believe! I love Ms. Bettie Page for this same reason! I know and feel that she is both a strong woman and a spiritual person.

The Dilemma

The Dilemma is that most people feel they should have to choose between spirituality and our sexuality. I think that we need to love all aspects of ourselves and never deny or say a part of us is bad. I think that we need to know our intensions and motives behind something and keep that real. But you should never have to choose between spirituality and sexuality. Both are good, both should be balanced. If not, you will have unhealthy scenarios arise from suppressing your sexual feelings and actions. We need to know that there is nothing wrong with expressing sexuality as long as it is balanced with all aspects of ourselves. I believe that all aspects of ourselves: our eclectic and complex selves need to be heard and expressed!
